WIN The First MG TF LE500 off the line! 10 years 7 months ago #131580

Let's not lose sight of the bigger picture here folks. :P

That is that John Newey put this car up for auction and a fair segment of that raffle money went to a very worthy charity. It took a while and has provided much debate and entertainment within the MG community (and still does) but it got there in the end. Hats off to the winner too. Lucky bugger.

If someone spent 14k buying it and put it in a nice dry lockup garage for 20 years, what could it be worth then? :yesnod:

In my opinion, I can see an MGF Trophy becoming a collectable classic. :yesnod:

Possibly some other specials like the 75th Anniversary F, The 80th TF, maybe a few others.

No way in the World is a Chinese copy going to be a collectable classic. :nonod:

Possibly.

But would you pay €8000.00 for a 80th TF as advertised on Donedeal ? :-?

Seems also quite optimistic to me. It's a nine year old car...
as ever,

Pity this car did not end up in the hands of a T-Bar member or other F/TF enthusiast but if you want a TF that will command a high price you need to go a long way to beat one of these CLICK here to view.

In all honesty I'm not sure my financial circumstances would have allowed me to keep it had I won it. I'd probably have sold it and my F and bought a newer car and made some money or had some major renovation done to the F.
