We have ordered a coolant alarm and it's top of my to-do list.
Thanks for the advice about the washers, it looks like a very good idea 💡 👍
Time to get hooning.

On Sunday we had our 1st non start after the rebuild.
We were at a local shopping centre and when came back to the car the driver door was slightly open and the foot well light had been on for a couple of hours, yep ..flat battery resulting in us pushing R40 around the car park.
It got me thinking 11.png
The colder weather recently has probably been a factor and the battery needs replacing, so what other jobs should be done before the bad weather really comes?
1st on the list is a new batter, obviously.
2nd was wiper blades and I have replaced the wiper motor.
3rd is to put a protective spray on the under floor to prevent any damage from road salt.( suggestions would be welcome but I'm thinking about trying lanogaurd)
4th is to finally get around to fitting a low coolant sensor..1.png
5th would be to reproof the roof and polish the rear screen.
6th is just general everyday checking, tyres, brakes, lights etc.
I'm on the look out for a hard top if the budget allows 7.png
If anyone wants to add to the list please do.

Can you here the pump run when you turn the ignition key?

If the door handle doesn't operate the lock then it sounds like the linkage has either come off the handle end or that the tab on the handle is broken.
Taking the handle off is easier with the window down.

As the washers are still working you can discount a blown fuse.
Before replacing the motor I would recommend removing the 2 T20 screws holding the case of the wiper motor and giving everything a thorough clean because it can get very grubby in there.
There is a good video on YouTube that explains how to do this.

I didn't think that a modern TF or even a F would be considered as a classic, not just yet anyway.1.png

Hi Len, I used a comparison site when I was looking for insurance after my rebuild.
It maybe worth a look because I got 12 months fully comprehensive for less than £100. That was based on a 58 year old doing 4K miles per year with a clean license.
