Great anyway. About the rivets. The Abingdon Hood i bought it used from ebay.So i didn;t receive the appropiate rivets. Check it please when you can.
The good news is that this Hood ha already the holes, so it will be a little easier. I have some rivets left from last time changing the rear window screen of one friend,. Maybe they are the same size and i have the correct size to order more.

The rivets are the same size that you used to change the rear window.:yesnod:

There are 2 sizes. I will hunt them out and measure them.

They are all 3.5mm rivets, but 2 are longer than the rest.

Also, it is best to use black rivets, as they are visible. Have a look here http://stores.ebay.co.uk/spalding-nut-and-bolt/_i.html?_fsub=308841619

I have used normal rivets as I was given the wrong ones (will colour them in later), but if you want to be a perfectionist use black.

Excellent how to! Had to use this since I replaced my roof and window as well. Would have been a lot harder if we only used the supplied instructions (which honestly are very limited).

We changed the roof with 2 though, which probably made some parts a lot easier. We also managed to completly save the old roof without cutting it, we could just peel everything away.

We also installed the window section last, this way we were sure we wouldn't damage it.

I can't find 3.5mm, only 3.2 or 4mm, which will be best?

3.2 mm work OK. It's the length that's more important.

Great how-to...thanks Clive/CJJ. It's nearly Christmas and Santa has a letter asking for a new hood - 'she' (!) tells me though that you don't get them on a sleigh so toughen-up.

I'm pretty sure that if it is the roof without the frame then it does fit on a sleigh. :yesnod:
