THE REAR CONTROL ARM INNER END IS NON SERVICEABLE

DO NOT SMASH YOURS UP LIKE I DID.. AS THERE IS NO REPAIR PART AVAILABLE

I have e mailed Powerflex and asked if they can make bushes..

But it looks like it remains a non serviceable item..

For the MGF rear control arm the inner end is non serviceable

Its a case of buy a whole new item..

The inner arm joint is a ball joint.. and cannot be replaced with a polybushed item

Daryl if you are replacing a 100 a year where are buying them from? Price vaires a lot.. I need a pair..

I've fallen in to exactly the same trap as you DD, a guide on here lists a Powerflex part for the inner lower-TCA but as you've found that actually refers to the inner bush on the larger control arm.

I also have a smashed up rose joint and a set of bushes that don't fit!

Andy

Looking at your dis-assembled arm would it not be possible to use pour-in 'poly' to create a new bush/rosejoint assembly? In the same way that Darren (luckymarine) re-made the engine stay bush.

The inner joint needs to be a ball joint.. Not poly bushed..

It's a shame no one makes just that end..

I've asked a friend if he would look into making these (and TF rear suspension parts)
His work is excellent and he's well known in Metro circles. I think that his only reservation was lack of demand. I might just have to point him in the direction of this thread if there's proof of demand.
