Reprogramming fob

I bought a second fob as my heap only came with one. Does anyone know the best way of getting it reprogrammed for the TF? Is it worth trying an MG dealer or is that well out of date?

If its the round type fob as fitted to TF's 2003> (Pektron Unit) then it has to be a new fob supplied with the bar-code, second hand units cannot be re-programmed, if its the earlier Lucas fob then it can be done with a T300 programmer.

Some T bar members have this programmer and may be able to help dependent on where you are located.

Thank you. It's the earlier Lucas type oblong with two buttons. I would be grateful for help if anyone has the T300 programmer! I am based in Central London by Victoria station.

I'm in the same boat if anyone local to me could help... I have the old style fob (new one) West Yorkshire... :woohoo:

If anyone has the barcode with the Pektron type I believe it can be added to your car even if it's been used before - it's just that it MUST have its orginal barcode.

Lucas ones as said are easier s any T300 or T4 will do it.

All you need to do is remove the 5AS unit.
send it first class signed for (£2) to us. we sort it the day we get it and send it straight back.
£20 for as many fobs as you want plus the £2 postage back.
Note: we NEED all your working fobs with the new one as well.

As for the later Pektron SCU type oval two tone 2 or 3 button ones we can do those via mail as well.
£20 for one -£30 for two programmed.
Again, you remove your Pektron SCu and send it to us...we will sort it and send it back the same Day.
Instructions for removal just email us and we send you pics and info ...we need your make model and year. plus your contact details

We can re use fobs from one Pektron SCU to another most times but sometimes that will not work for various reasons.
You do need a barcode to program the new ones to the Pektron SCU (we can program them even if all remote are lost and unit is in alarm lockout mode)

We can also take the 28 hex barcodes from the pektron SCU units and as said above reuse them.
Also we will supply to members on here free their ACTUAL WORKING EKA code taken directly from the unit itself.

We can also program in 'extras' via the T4 equipment.

These 28 Digit barcodes above are how they are stored in the pektron SCU eeprom chip.
Notice that the 22 digit original on the right gets 'convoluted' by taking the last 12 hex digits and putting them in front of the '2D9A9969' -the first and end charactors are ignored.( N & R) then 8 zeros are added to the front...

So, as you can see from the above, NOT having the original barcode is not really that important if you still have the SCU itself that it was coded to..... :clap:

All that is missing to reconstitute the ORIGINAL barcode is the N and last character...Nearly EVERY barcode I have seen has started with 'N'.....someone with time on their hands could via a process of elimination arrive at the proper character. Bear in mind though that it could be any of the alphabet (26) or ? . * SPACE plus 0123456789......easier of course if you have it.

A lot of the Pektron Fobs lose sync with the Pektron SCU for numerous reasons and then its time to get a new one.
The older Lucas Square ones could and can be re-synced with the 5AS

Remobilise, That sound like a fair deal. Do you go to any of the shows/ Pol and reprogram there? Im reluctant to send all my "stuff" in the post and find some postie numpty loses it

We are in swansea and will travel to some if they are not too far...
You can send it via Special delivery (£6.35) and none that we have done have gone missing at all...same day service.
Or via signed for 1st Class (approx £3) but that's not so secure and not guaranteed next day before 1pm
We post all over the world and all have got where they are going..signed for.
If we get it monday we sort it monday, and posted back same day. To get you back on the road fast.
A lot of customers get a spare 5AS or Pektron SCU from a scrappy and we clone that to the original and that way their car is never off the road - they just employ the spare whilst sending the 'failed' one for repairs. (relays).
Of course Martin we need to have your unit initially to do this, but more people are getting a shelf spare to backup their unit as they get more difficult to source.

Hi Kev, can you guys at Remobilise switch on the central locking part of the ECU?
Our 53 plate 115 didn't have it and where some people have been able to simply add motorised door locks that didn't work for us.

Can switch central locking on if you call in or via post if you remove the Pektron SCU ...we do it the same day we get it...£20. and post it back the same day...free EKA with order.

Thats the ACTUAL EKA not the wrong one you get online buying it of some site..
