Something to keep the TF Company
I went to see the locally advertised one on Saturday and it was a complete and utter nail... it was so rusty it looked like it had been left standing in salt water for several years (which I guess it might've been lol) but after driving it I felt right at home.... and happened to find another slightly better looking one not too far away. Went to see it on Sunday and was hooked from the minute I set eyes on it... it's Tahiti blue (or if LR didn't do Tahiti, it's as near as you can get to tahiti!) and I even have a touch up kit for it left over from my F days
It's relatively clean and tidy (the engine bay was suspiciously clean, but makes it easier to spot leaks in the coming days/weeks/months...) anyway, it seemed to drive well (once I'd stopped stalling it  ) and I couldn't find anything obviously wrong with it so decided to bite the bullet before prices rose to silly amounts.
It's a 2001 Y reg and has 74,000 miles on the clock. It has a few minor things that need attention (drivers window switch is wired the wrong way up, there's a hole where the 12v lighter should be, there's a switch that doesn't have the top on it so I've no idea what it's for and the rear NS window doesn't work) - but I forgive it of these faults as I love it already. I've been working further afield than I usually would and so have taken the Freelander to see how it went - and it hasn't broken down on me yet in 200 miles :woohoo:

Posted 12 years 1 month ago #73442I would hazard a guess as somewhere around 35, but won't know til my next fill up - and my usual commutes are country lanes rather than motorways so may take me a couple of weeks or more before I find out my true figure.
