Per the founder whose name is the answer to one of the other questions MG is just that, it doesnt "stand" for anything.
However I have read that there may have been tax reasons concerned with it the Morris takeover.
There I havent given anything away i think. .

Strictly speaking Morris Motors did take MG over, as until then MG had been the private property of William Morris, so I believe.

well we know all of them.only because we went to the mg owner club and got a leaflet and it had all the answers,and it makes me wonder if the same leaflet was used to make the q and a up

Never been to the mg owner club and never seen a leaflet...so.... Nope... q and a not from there :coat:

I must comment however that the MG 1100 didn't pioneer hydrolastic suspension, there were both Austin and Morris versions first and then MG, Riley and Wolseley versions. Also a mini Roller, Vanden Plas. There was also hydrolastic versions of the Mini but I can't remember when that was, about 1965/66 iirc.
