Hello everybody,

as you may know I'm quite new to this forum (my status just changed to 'Apprentice' at least!), please tell me if I'm telling any nonsense.

But I think participating in a forum like ours is always a good opportunity to do some 'networking'.
Of course we can support each other with questions around our cars - but what do you think about helping each other in much more areas?

Some (or most?) of you may have met in person in noggins or meetings, but as I've seen we have members form Australia, Germany, Ireland etc.
And I'm sure everybody can contribute something to our community. Myself - I'm a German living in Ireland, so could help when a translation is needed e.g. or you want to buy from or sell something to someone in Germany/Austria/Switzerland.
I'm working for a famous IT company where I have a number of assets every year to offer a nice discount to friends who want to buy hardware.

Another example - in the past I could use the UK address of a forum friend to order goods from amazon or ebay when the seller would not ship to Eire (that's solved, have my own UK delivery address now through a parcel service).

I've sent and received local specialities from a forum friend in Japan.

I think you see my intention.
So what do you think about creating an area (maybe in the groups section) where everybody can participate who is willing to offer some support and can post his possibilities?

i think it's a great idea, in principle. :yesnod:
there's all sorts of areas where i'm sure we could help each other, if the trust of someone you've never met is obtained.
i'm a relatively new member also, and i do think this can be an issue.

more thoughts, anyone>?

I'd be up for that. I am a self employed Architectural/CAD technician. So I can offer a drawing service. I for one would also be interested in any hardware going

You've heard of speed dating? I've done speed networking before now! Haha!

I would certainly be interested in networking as I'm going to be starting my own business in the new year and I will be looking to exploit every connection to get the word out.

At the moment, unless you are an accountant I'm not sure what I have to offer but if I can help I will.
