Whilst enjoying a few tipples a couple of nights ago, I was looking at MG's on ebay.
As usual F's were going for a song so had a look at ZT's.
Similar story but one caught my attention that had a starting bid of £350 with no bids & only a day to go.
It was an 03 2.5 auto, 83k, 9 months mot, bit of tax & new wheels & tyres . :broon:
Put in a silly bid of £450 max.
Lo & behold I won the auction at £423 :-?
Don't know what I will do with it, but pick it up tomorrow so will see what it's like.
Made sure I included breakdown on the insurance :P

did you bid on your wife or was it a 'buy-it-now'?

I bidded over several nights out probably worked out a few hundred quid in the early years.

Now probably looking at the tens if not hundreds of thousands. I might do a part ex for a decent sports car though :)

Collected car & set off for the M6 & home.
Put £40 worth of fuel in & was enjoying the experience of driving a big V6 auto, but then after about 8 miles the dreaded temp. gauge shot into the red
Pulled in to a petrol station & found coolant discharging out of the expansion tank cap. :(
Called AA & after waiting over an hour they diagnosed water pump failure as he said the coolant wasn't circulating around the engine. Major job on this model, so got it towed back to the seller. No one at home, doubtless gone down the bank to deposit the loot.
Not having time to hang around, left car as seen with note requesting cheque for my cash ;)
Then had a long & expensive train journey home.
Will not be putting anymore silly bids on ebay again :yesnod:
