I am guessing not ending that great.

Personally I think they should get the marksmen out quick and take the first head shot they can - the person has in my eyes lost all his rights to 'human rights' by taking people hostage anyway. It's about time countries started getting some balls and showing these scumbags that they can't just kill and mame people in the name of Islam (which I should say is NOT on trial here - most Muslims abhor this kind of thing) .

It's terrible but I fear that these terrorist events will become more commonplace in the western world. Those cafe goers must be terrified. I do hope that they don't try and rush the place. Hopefully, it will end well with no fatalities.

It is my considered opinion that the best possible outcome would be that all the hostages are ok and the ouzing scumbag gets a high velocity lead sleeping pill admimistered between the eyes!.........mind you I hope the sniper takes the area behind the target into consideration when pulling the trigger, as there would be very many angry women if the target had his limited brains spattered all over the chocolates, we'd never hear the end of it!

To be honest - the only fatalities I am worried about are the innocents being held hostage - if the scumbag hostage taker happens to pop his clogs I couldn't care less.

All this 'try and be better than them' doesn't work for these so called Islamists (again not all Islamic people). They are radicalised scum who are so indoctrinated that they care only for their own twisted views. Everyone else should submit or die in their eyes ... well sorry to say if that is their attitude then they have to expect the same back!

The horror of Lee Rigby brought it home to me as it was only a mile or so from my front door.. and I walked that road many times. If we hadn't been so lilly livered, and the scourge that is Facebook had informed the authorities of the obvious death threats being written about, then we could have removed the threat before it happened.

I also don't care for all this 'let's see why they were radicalised' rubbish either. To be honest no matter who you are, or what your situation, you know when something in inherently wrong. So if someone starts telling you to kill all the 'infidels' then you can make a decision to do it or not. Those who make the decision to go ahead deserve no human rights at all... if they aren't born here remove them to their place of birth (and strip citizenship/leave to remain), if they are born here imprison them in solitary so they can't spread their vile thoughts to others, and if they are threatening innocent people simply shoot them. Harsh I know, but then the bible does say an eye for an eye - and they do claim to be religious people....

Sorry if this upsets some people but as always we are all allowed an opinion, and I for one and fed up with our way of life being under siege from nutters who think everyone else should die!

The same thing was planned at St Martins place in Sydney. It seems that the same thing has been planned here, in the UK, with a member of our uniformed services being threatened to be killed, beheaded too no doubt. There must be a better solution to deal with this homegrown terror.

RIP Lee Rigby.

If they're sure that there's only one terrorist, then they shouldn't dwell on their actions. I suppose that they have to consider that he may have a bomb on his back. Or, that it might be true that he has planted other bombs in the area.

It sounds like it has ended reasonably well for the hostages as it sounds as though there are only a couple of them injured, hopefully not too seriously.

It also sounds like the terrorist is a total arsehole with a string of violent and sexual offences to answer if he survived. Another example of violence in the name of Islam which has nothing to do with that peaceful religion but is just used as an excuse by an evil psychopath.

The thing that annoys me is that (as the same as here in the UK) these scumbags who come over here with no intention of having a better life - but to disrupt ours - are allowed to stay even after they are involved in illegal activities! If any person given leave to stay in a country (either by leave to remain status or granted citizenship) should have their right to stay stripped and instantly be deported. That is for ANY offense at all as far as I am concerned.

They should've deported the prick ages ago, and if no country would take him (and why would they?) take him for a helicopter ride to international waters and just push him out the door........mind you you'd never get the damned smell out of the fish after that!

Didn't end that well with 2 hostages dead and 2 others with shot wounds, one of them a policeman.

This has been a bit worring for us, my daughter arrived in Sydney 4 hours before the start of the seige.
