"MGF - Project Car. Owned by the original designer of the MGF"
MGF - Project Car. Owned by the original designer of the MGF
Completed

Dunno if it's genuine or not.

Gerry McGovern under Gordon Sked led the design team for the MGF but 'PR3' which was the basis for the MGF was done elsewhere first and I think it's PR3 that features on the eBay ad. PR3 was a Rover Special Products design with clays built by ADC. I've never found out who the designer was for PR3 so if Steve Harper is claiming this it could be true!

If it's the same Steve Harper

To be fair, having read the eBay description again, it does sound genuine and would indeed be an interesting acquisition.

I hope it's picked up by an enthusiast and brought back to its former glory because it has real history.

Bit far for me to drive it back without mot or clutch unfortunately :nonod:

Gone now, an offer was accepted it would seem.

I did think about getting it myself, but the fact it wasn't actually his car but one a friend had back in the day put me off. Plus the fact I've already got one and Mrs B would go mad if I bought another one!

the whole clutch thing wasn't a problem for me as I had to replace both master and slave cylinders on mine a couple of weeks ago. Half a day to get the old bits off, 20 mins to put in new ones and bleed.

I must say though, the idea of an electric MGF sounds good to me. Shame it didn't come to fruition.

Previously his friend had owned it and he nearly did but didn't, later he bought it for his company.

There is a company in Poland who have built an electric MGF.
