:bang: As the title says who feels sick because I bet there are a few of the old timers out there like me has had one or two of these motors...and just didn't realise if we hung on what they would be worth!!!!! :slapme: :slapme:

I wonder will our F's or TF's ever make this list

www.msn.com/en-gb/cars/enthusiasts/the-5...=spartandhp#image=51

not certain if this will just open by clicking or if you'll have to cut and paste.

Out of interest I recently started to put together a list of all the cars I have ever owned or driven
This started with an Austin A35 Estate and includes gems such as a Hillman Imp, several Minis one of which was an original Austin which now would probably be worth something, if it hadn't fallen apart.
Best car I owned was a Datsun 160J SSS Coupe which I thought was stylish and went like the clappers. Worst car I owned was a Sierra 2.0 Ghia which was crap.
Best car I have driven was a Datsun 240Z.
So, nothing too exotic but I wish I had either of the Datsuns now.

Only managed 2 of them, the Avenger and Alfasud.

But "nicked " engines from the Ital and SD1 Vitesse for my Sprite and MGB respectively...does this count ?

Sadly all the rest of my cars appear to have increased in value amazingly following my sale of them:-

Frogeye Sprite (X2)
Healey Sprite Mk 11
Mk1 Golf GTi
Corrado VR6
Mk1 Eunos Roadster

I've owned 4 of the most popular 50:

Series 1 80 inch Land-Rover
MG Midget (Mk2)
Morris 1000
VW Beetle (1300 de-luxe - not oval)

Who would have thought that a Series 1 would be worth £26K. I bought mine in 1973 for transport during a year in the Outer Hebrides. It was a great choice for that area and was off road more than on. When the starter motor packed-up I just swung it on the handle. Think it cost me £150 and I sold it 2 years later to a coastal fisherman for £80 for hauling salmon nets off the beach. It was brilliant in 'jeep' mode - ie no roof or upper doors and the screen folded. Totally scary above 40 MPH.

The best 2 collectors car that I have owned were a 1981 Alfasud 1.5 Ti and a 1981 Alfa GTV 2000.

:yesnod:
You had to stop and "collect" the bits that had dropped off!
Both rusted before your eyes and needed fettling every few weeks, but they were the BEST cars that I have ever owned despite all their flaws.

I have also had
Austin 1100
Austin Allegro
Hillman Avenger Estate auto (don;t ask)
Mk 2 Golf GTI
309 GTI
Lada Riva (again don't ask)
Citroen AX
Datsun Cherry
Kreidler Florett (moped)
Yamaha RD 125 and RD 250
Suzuki GT750 Kettle
Suzuki GS 750
Suzuki GSX 750 (paid £1300 new in 1981)
Suzuki TS 100
Benelli 250
Some sort of Lambretta (never rode it as was a horrible death trap)

And having spent the last 20 years in car sales,I have had too many Vauxhall demos to list (cars tend to lose their magic when you work with them every day)

And now I have had my TF for just over a year and think its great as you can work on it yourself and its not your normal sterile euro box.
I get more fun out of it than any of our VXR's at work.

I wish that I still had a few of the more desirable ones from the list above, some are now worth a small fortune !
