If the t-bar.org is listed it is more likely to get higher up the google rankings.
Also when a website is new on the net it sits in what they call the sandbox for quite a while and irrespective of what people do it doesnt make that much difference to the websites position..
Only time will get it out of the sandbox but also inlinks and keywords will help

Phil_J;3054 wrote: you could email other MG sites and ask if they would put a link to t-bar.org but usually in exchange they would want you to reciprocate the link.
They ask for this because the search engine spiders and bots literally crawl from one link to the other
Phil_J;3054 wrote: you can do this by creating another forum topic and calling it other useful MG sites and stick them in there.
I created a whole links forum and split it down, ie links of interest, reciprocate links etc etc
Kara-
1 sort your meta tags
2 sort your thread tags, you're probably better doing them yourself using the tagger plug in
3 enable 'similar threads' (I cann't see any on here) this basically works on the title but shows at the bottom of the thread like this example (scroll all the way down)-

If somebody comes across a thread of yours on Google, for example, they will see other similar ones at the bottom..
when you've done all these (and you can find a time when you can get a lot of people on at once) its time to go global and initiate phase two..

Thank you so much Paul! You're such a sweetie! :grouphug:
I've sorted out meta tags now and will start tagging threads that haven't been tagged by their owners yet!
I've seen the similar threads option in the admin cp so will enable it sharpish!
Will let you know when everything's been done so that phase two can begin! (whatever phase two is! :dunno: )
