Posted 15 years 1 day ago #3709Just in case you missed it.:whistle:David Aiketgate;3679 wrote: Just two quick thoughts.
Have you tried releasing the screws along the front of the bumper, pull the bumper top forward in the centre. There is adjustment in there.
If you do need to reprofile the curve at the front of the bonnet.
You may need to put a block of some kid under the centre of the bonnet before you pull the edges down. Otherwise you will never get the corners down far enough. As said above, try everything before you resort to bending the bonnet!

Oh I assumed it was another bit off GW - silly me!

I did compare my F and TF bonnets today - as VVC Steve says they are the same, in my case the only difference is a bigger (higher) battery on the TF.

The bonnet has been done!!!!!! :piratebang::piratebang::piratebang:
We read all the advice in this thread again this morning then went down to the garage to commence round two! Tried adjusting the hinges again - nothing. Tried adjusting the spring/catch again - nothing. Tried removing horns to see if they were blocking it from closing - nope! So took the bonnet off the hinges & lay it down to rest flat and that's when everything became clear - the bloody thing had warped! It sat far too flat along the front of the bonnet & flared up way too much at the sides. :rolleyes2: So we both decided to sit on either end of bonnet to weight it down. Did it work? Nope! So then Soph (Alias) & Ian came round & we decided to drown our sorrow in a game or two of Wii!
Then... got a text from Paul (Technozen) "I can pop over around 2:30 if you'd like?" Well hell yeah I would! :yesnod: He agreed that it had clearly somehow got bent out of shape so do you know what he did? Brick under the bonnet next to the bonnet catch then him & Frank just pushed down hard on both ends! I have to admit I was terrified! The bonnet was making the most horrible crunching & creaking sounds & I thought the whole thing was gonna crack any second but nope!!! It worked!!! The bonnet is looking fab! Have taken some quick piccys but will naturally be doing some posh ones shortly! If we get a sunny day any time soon!
Until then here's our new super sexy bonnet:
My gorgeous two dumbells (thank you!!!):
And a huge thank you to everyone who posted ideas, help and advice in this thread! We couldn't have wished for more support! :grouphug: :respect:
Also a very special thank you to Jonocash who posted up the ebay link on here otherwise I'd have completely missed this bonnet which I think suits the rest of the GS1 perfectly! Mmmm... vents... :drool5:
Thank you again!
