Gone back into my hutch.
Why not put the favicon where all can see it without the complex searches?
Otherwise there's little point in having it.
Should be prominent for all to enjoy.
It is interesting that there is little correspondence now. Is this because others have lost interest due to these complications?

Well if we put it somewhere else then it wouldn't be a favicon :dunno: Favicons are very popular on websites/forums these days and even if you don't know what it's called I think the majority of people have noticed the little icons next to web addresses. I honestly don't think it's a complication - David had a technical issue unique to his laptop but no one else has reported a fault.
As for there being less correspondence I don't think it's a coincedence that with christmas around the corner the post count has gone down. People are christmas shopping, seeing family, putting up decs, not working on their cars because it's freezing, and generally have a million & one things to do before christmas day so naturally I think forums take a hit. Personally Frank & I haven't been on here a lot recently owing to spending every waking hour desparately trying to find jobs so whilst I am desparate for the forum to be a great community for everyone it's very hard at the mo to encourage people to post when your not sure if you'll have a home after christmas.
Also we've got to remember that Rome wasn't built in a day. New forums can take months if not years to get going so we're actually doing remarkably well. We've been live for just over a month and this amount of traffic is actually incredible for a brand new forum. If your comparing it to .org then of course your going to see more traffic on there - they've been up & running for YEARS! And have built a huge memberlist over that time. If you're expecting .org then you're on the wrong forum. If you're after a new community that's beginning to form & grow and become a friendly community-minded place for all then you're definitely in the right place. :yesnod:

I am fully aware of your personal circumstances and have posted my feeling towards you and wished you well for the future in this or the other forum, I do not remember which.
However, I have made comments which I feel are valid but not intended to be personal in any way. If, because of this, you feel I should leave ths forum then so be it. The choice,as owner is yours of course.

Blimey Mike it was by no means my intention to put you off in any way I can assure you. I simply meant that due to personal circumstances I sadly cannot devote as much time as I would like into encouraging forum traffic and that coupled with christmas has led to a small decrease in posts. My last part was not intended to put you off but rather to spur you and others on to realizing that actually we are doing really well despite the decrease and just to put things in perspective. I apologise entirely if it came across otherwise... I probably shouldn't be looking for a job as a motivational speaker then!

This means that unless I remember to uncheck that little box each time I load up firefox, I start to get the blank page icon again.
There must be something in the way that I have Firefox configured that is causing this but I'm ****ed if I can figure it out!
I know it's not really a big deal, but it's little things like this that tend to annoy me.:toetap:

The only other thing I could think of is that your computer isn't shutting down properly and therefore not saving your last changes.

I have two computers and they're both doing the same.CJJ;6108 wrote: Could it be a 3rd party security program that prevents websites hijacking your home page, or something similar?

I suppose it could be something with the anti-virus as they both use the same one, but I haven't a scooby at the moment.:dunno:
