In the halcyon days of open top motering, for me this was the 1960s, 70s & 80s when Bobbys pounded the beat or had bicycles, I used to use a full tonneau. I found this ideal in foul weather, keeping the rain out , heat in and giving a modicom of security.
Now I know that the modern hood is a comparative marvel in that it is a doddle to raise and lower when needed but it lacks that certain something when it comes to true 'open top'.
In an effort to regain that 'je ne sais quais', I am thinking of fitting an aftermarket full tonneau but before I do, does anyone have any experience or thoughts in this area?
Any advice/ experience would be welcome
:)

PS: previous cars that matter- Alvis Grey Lady,Triumph Herald Convertable, AH 3000 and a number of MGBs.

I picked one up off eBay 3 years ago for Meg... not used it that much but it does look cool when she's parked and its on!

Just make sure you get ALL of the fittings with it as some elsewhere have picked up the cover but it's a mare of a job to get the little nipples that hold it on at the back, plus you have to drill, tap and die the rear finisher screws if you don't have the OEM new ones!

There are also at least two different types - a vinyl one which is a one piece (I got this type as it totally waterproof - aprt from any rain that goes down the front into the dash of course! LOL) and a canvas treated one which is two piece (not sure how waterproof it is).
