Mike Satur Quad rear light clusters... but not. was created by Luckymarine

As we all know the Mike Satur rear light clusters are getting rarer and rarer as Mike stopped production of them.
To that end Im in talks with a polyurethane moulding company about making some up as Im sick of waiting for them to pop up on ebay only to be outbid at the last second. Its happened 5 times now!
Now the original light clusters were designed to use the Fiat lights,
Most agree that the l.e.d rings look a lot better.
Thing is you need some hefty O rings made up in order to take up the excess gap as the l.e.d rings are slightly smaller that the Fiat units.
So the "Not Mike Satur" quad rear light clusters will have the right size holes for the Luxvision led rings, they will also have the mounting points of a normal rear light cluster.
Im also contemplating (for a little more) Getting the units sprayed to order and setting up the l.e.d. rings along with the resistor pack required in order for it to be a straight forward 2 min plug in and play type affair with no specialist knowledge required.
Just wanting to gauge interest, no prices just yet.

Costs will be dependant on what sort of interest I get as the more units produced by the moulding company the cheaper the deal.
Just been been quoted tooling costs of roughly £3k, with each pair costing about £50 to make. They would be in ABS but a quick research into the differences between ABS and Polyurethane and there wont be any issue with them being ABS. ABS will take impact a bit better and bend as aposed to shatter.
Obviously I cant sell them at cost, I dont have £3k to throw away I'll probably aim to sell them in line with what 2nd hand ones are going for on ebay.
There will be 3 options, and therefore 3 prices.
Bare uncoloured unit.
Unit sprayed to the paint code you give me (spraying will be done by a professional and receipt of work will be included).
Unit sprayed to paint code and led unit installed along with resistor pack required.

Lucky,
I'm interested, but think you will have to get the tooling prices down to make it commercial viable. What about getting a Glass fibre guy to do this? the moulds will be cheaper (you could use a scrap existing light cluster as the male to make the mould) the overall costs should be more scalable. CJJ had a guy that was doing the bonnets in carbon maybe he can share some info? If you can get the raw unit price down then the value of Colour coding and the LED fitment will be higher and hence you will be able to get a better price for your T &M.

The ABS units will be just as durable if not more than the Polyurethane ones.
Looked into glass fibre and for a one off in the shed its fine. But to produce lots, we're talking 30-50 sets injection moulding is the way to go.
I want to offer the same if not better quality than Mike did.

If the price is right and they're the same as MS ones then I'll be interested
