Just be careful with the "paint to order" units to make sure that the customer knows that they will be sprayed to the spec supplied by the customer.
Some cars may either be a bit faded, or may have been resprayed to a slightly different shade than the original code shown on the ID plate which could set you up for some unhappy customers, so you have to make sure they understand the colour is to the spec THEY supply.

Did anything ever come about with this one? Was thinking that now 3D printing is now a viable technology, reproducing these units must be so much easier, although you would need an industrial size printer and they are not cheap.

Luckymarine hasn't been on since last June so I guess not a lot is happening.

If you can get a scan of the O/E ones an industrial 3D printers will make them up but no idea on cost.

I'm presuming that a potential problem might be some kind of design copy write, unless Mike Satur doesn't have an issue with it? After unsuccessfully trying to get hold of some of these for years i "bit the bullet" last week and got hold of a pair from Ebay. At £270 they weren't the cheapest buy (apologies to anyone else who may have been bidding on the auction). However having said that 2 weeks prior to getting mine, i found another set for sale, I offered £300 and was turned down!

I did bid on those too, Denial, but obviously you beat me, I also bid on the ones pictured I went up to £180, the sold for £207 Great looking lights, but well overpriced for a bit of plastic. They did seem a better deal than the first set on a couple of weeks ago even with the repair to the corner, they did include the LED lamps.

Well there still must be an easier way to get a mould of these, even if you use original lights as a template.

 Sorry i was bidding against you, i agree the price of these getting ridiculous, at this rate they'll cost more than a 2nd hand MG soon. As for someone else producing them, I'm guessing as with most things, that it all comes down to money in the end. If i was to do it I'd have to find and pay a company to 3d scan the ones i have. Once i have the 3d design then find someone else to produce them. I can't see any manufacturer being willing to produce them one at a time, so they'll probably want a minimum order. Even if I went through all that, I'd still only have the basic unit. If i wanted to sell them complete then a set of new Hella LED's light rings would set me back over £200. Unfortunately with the upfront design cost, production cost, and the cost of the lights to fit, i just can't see how I would make a profit if i did.

Come and see them in Amaranth on Stand G3 at MG LIVE! might even wrap them Fluorescent Purple instead...another project...

So who's ebay ID is V***V (ebay obscured) with a feedback of 473 who bid £181.21, £192.00 & £202.00 who cost ME £44.43?

They actually cost MORE than the Fluorescent Purple project MGF, which is currently Bright Silver Metalflake and due to be featured on the front cover of MG Enthusiast Magazine...

Ahem ..... that could have been me, however ebay ID is nothing like my real ebay username, they must generate random characters in the bidders names. I really did fancy them, but I aint gonna pay more than a couple for a set.
Incidentally, the set Denial bought, was from a chap only 5 miles from where I live, I was hoping the bit I saved on postage, would be enough extra on the bid to win...wrong again!
Anyhows, hope you are pleased with the lights and when some more come up on the bay, at least two peeps who outbid me have now got some, so hopefully next set will be mine!
