The Jester;5231 wrote: forget that suggestion of mine kara....it uses AA batteries....you def need li-ion battery otherwise you'll spend a fortune on batteries...still searching....the one you liked before seems best if a little more than you wanted to spend....and comes in girly pink

Agreed mate I can't be doing another one with aa batteries - out current camera just eats them up in minutes. :rolleyes2:

Thank you! And a bridge camera is better than a normal digital camera?

Eagle;5234 wrote: Just an Idea Kara, Will you be trying to take pics from your MGF ie from a window mounted system, like a reverse mounted Sat Nav ? If so would a camera with a remote control and maybe light weight ( to stop vibration ) be in order. Is anyone in the forum running anything like this and what do they recommend. I think I have seen a camera mounted on the T-bar somewhere.

I know what you're talking about hun... it's not something I'm interested in but I did see one on my hunt yesterday so will see if I can find the link for you. :)

But to be honest, my main camera is my phone, a Sony Erricsson C905 which has a brilliant 8.1 Megapixel camera built in.

Forget digital zoom as you can crop pictures on the computer.

There is this Kodak 12 Megapixel for £66.66. It has 3x optical zoom.

Argos has a few cameras on that site.

Forgot about good ol' argos! Will check them out today - thank you mate. :)

My dad has (i think) the Fuji S1500, from amazon for like £120 and its really good.

Thanks for the recommendation mate will have a look for one.

Cool another one for the list! This is great! :chewie:

MGFmad;5306 wrote: My daughter got a digital camera for her birthday - it takes good photos but I cannot remember the make/model:confused: so this does not help much:whistle:

I do all my photos with my phone its only a 5MP Nokia N95 but as I never enlarge them to poster size its ideal. The photos of the MGs were taken with this(in the gallery) but I think they were compressed when saved so perhaps not the best example

I've got quite a good camera on my phone but it doesn't take video so no more rude youtube videos. :sad2:

A Bridge camera is 'a bridge' between a simple compact point and shoot camera, and a full SLR with interchangeable lenses, and multifarious settings of focus aperture etc. that allow for more creative photography.

The Fuji cameras mentioned are Bridge cameras. I have a Nikon D60, which is a digital SLR with all the bells and whistles.

A bridge camera (normally) does not have interchangeable lenses but has a big range zoom lens. It will have the ability to play about with aperture and focus etc.

Having said all that, I have seen adverts for new ranges of bridge cameras with interchangeable lenses. I think the new Panasonic Lumix is one.

Cool thanks David! I think I've found the one I want. It is a bridge one because I think an SLR is out of my price range tbh: http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.205-6429.aspx

One of my mates has an older model of Fuji bridge camera and it takes excellent photos, even though its only got 5MP I think. Very often his are indistinguishable from more expensive cameras (unless you blow them up to A4 or something!). Highly recommended. You can always invest in some high quality rechargeable AA's. Plus as I said before they use a Super CCD with honeycomb pattern which can be interlaced to higher MP than the camera can officially do - a clever Fuji trick. I still have my Fuji M603, which was a weird mix of tiny video camera and still camera that took Compact Flash cards up to 2gb (the max at the time)..officially it was 3MP but interlaced up to almost 6 which was amasing for 6 odd years ago.

Hmm... didn't think about rechargeable AAs! Thanks Adam! :)

I've spent the last couple of days not having a look and I'm convinced that Fuji will do me well with the budget I have. :woo2:

I have had 3 Fuji's, recommended the one my mate has now to him, and now bought my Mum the purple one - wouldn't have anything else as a compact/bridge cam.... having said that I have a Sony Alpha as my main SLR! LOL But that's on the way to 350 quids worth so not the same league as the Fuji ones... and to be honest for day to day shots you notice no difference at all in the pics!

I'll find out, Its way better than my 9600, that eats all 4 of them in a very short space of time. I find it best to buy them in packs of 30 odd lol.

If i get my hands on the 1500 tommorow i'll test it out a bit

Here is the quality from my mates old model Fuji bridge camera. My nephew stood outside his flat posing (as he loves to do! He'll be a model one day and keep us in the lap of luxury hopefully!LOL). The subject focus is lovely with the buildings in the background blurred out just enough. It's a bit JPEG'd but still looks great:
