Well that's good to hear! I have to admit that whilst an SLR one sounds like the bees knees I think it would be too complicated for me. A bridge camera seems like a good compromise between the SLR and compact.

I use rechargeables in my Fuji and they seem to last quite well.

Just spoke with my mate and his is quite light on batteries too... decent rechargeables should be fine methinks.
