Why is is it quite common on 1970s MGs to see a sticker under the bonnet that says "Warning - This vehicle is wired Negative earth"?

OK, other than the badge, what component used in the ZR and ZS can be traced back to the MGA?

Just to give you all time to have a think about MG mad's question, here is an update of the Quiz pies.

This last month has seen us play 39 questions, over which two players are sharing the honours with 7 wins each....

MG mad and MartinW :woohoo: .....next up we also have two players, this time with 5 wins a piece ...Gadget2466 and alanrt54 :broon:

Special mention to a newcomer to the MG T-Bar Quiz, a man who managed to score a very impressive 2 wins ......Whiz :welcome:

Here is the state of play in the MG T-Bar Quiz after the first 52 questions

So the overall MG Quiz Hall of Fame pies now looks like this..

Back to the quiz and a reminder of MG mad's question ....

OK I'll simplify it a bit - the major component is the engine, just tell me how it can be traced back to the MGA.

Not sure if this is to do with the K4 or KV6 but I assume K4 or L Series diesel as you mention the ZR and ZS? However, I know that the B Series shares crank dimensions at the rear with the O, M and T Series. I am not sure how that then translates to the K Series? However, the ZR and ZS diesel (not the ZT with the BMW M47 diesel engine) used the L Series diesel which itself was developed from the O Series which was made into a diesel in a joint Rover/Perkins project.

The crank is not completely the same, though, as later the nose was changed to accommodate the oil pump etc. but the fly-wheel from a B Series engine will bolt onto a T Series.

Yep, that's what I was looking for. The O series being a development of the B series, and the O in turn developed into the M, T and L series cars. yes was referring to the diesels only, hence only ZR and ZS. Your go now :)

Ok, off to Teeside shortly on business in the TF, grand day for a motorway blast top down! However, the question will be fairly obvious so if anyone wants to answer and is sure they're right, please go ahead with the next question.

Name a small car company based in the UK that used the K Series engines in a RWD format as opposed to transverse layout.
