I think i won earlier, with a Bugeye/ Frogeye Sprite question? So i have tasted the pie and hungered for more! As you do.....

Anyhoo, What links a Cook, an MG and the US of A?

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

I don't for one minute think this is the answer John expected but I quote from Military Intelligence Professional Bulletin January-September 2001 Issue

" As the Assistant Division Commander(Maneuver) of the 1st Infantry Division,MG Craddock became the first Commander of U.S. Forces, Kosovo (TaskForce Falcon), deploying the initial TF into Kosovo in June 1999."

So we have someone who is from the USA, has the initials MG, shares his surname with one of our earliest TV Cooks and managed to get the first TF into Kosovo 3 years before MG Rover started selling them!

Google truly is a marvel.

I reckon this is another part of the answer to a question I did in the original MG Quiz click here to see the original question

The MGA was raced for three years in NASCAR competitions, it never won a race and withdrew from NASCAR in 1963. NASCAR remained an all American affair until 2007 when a Toyota Camary was entered.

The last MGA to ever race at NASCAR was driven by .... Smokey Cook and yes that is his real name :omg:

Smokey Cook is a former NASCAR driver from Winston-Salem, NC. He competed in two Sprint Cup Series events in his career.

He debuted in 1960, when Cook debuted at Winston-Salem. Starting 17th in the field of eighteen, Cook barely completed a lap before his steering went out and he finished last (18th).

Cook was barely able to improve in his other event, returning to Winston-Salem in 1963. Starting 18th in the field of nineteen, Cook got to make twelve laps this race before overheating issues left him 17th.

No wonder MG pulled out of NASCAR

Thanks John.

OK, take a look at this

As the Morris Ital drove off the production line for the last time, so too did the Morris name on a passenger vehicle. The Marina and Ital destroyed what little credibility the Morris name had left, and BL needed to get rid of anything that reminded the public of the strike ridden joke that they had become. :nonod:

 However the Ital has a strong MG link. Name the link and the MG model...

An X Power Ital?

As well as the A Series, the Ital also used the O Series for the larger engine sizes.

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..
