Maybe......

....................judging by how MG Rover were still thoughtfully providing cassette tape storage in the glovebox lid of our 06 reg TF, which came fitted with a CD player (!!..... WTF! :oops: :oops: ) , I think it is the very useful secure coin storage, designed specifially for the 1953 half-crown, as fitted to the 2005 MG ZS.

.......I haven't a clue actually. :-?

If this were QI you'd be getting points for being interesting, just not right.

Sorry I had been thinking another clue would be a good idea, but got caught up marking exams this morning.

Ignore the glasses, they were just a poke at old people complaining about small images ;)

CLUE: the component in the image is factory fitted to some post 1995 MGs only, and debuted in the MGF.

I know the EPAS debuted on the MGF but I can't locate that bit in the photos I have of the EPAS

yeah sorry not EPAS related... this component was also fitted in a few Rovers of the era, but the MGF was the first to use it.
