MG mad is the one who should be setting the next question, however the time delay between his answering and setting questions is rather large so if you want to set one John go for it or anyone else for that matter.

Questions can be on anything MG related and preferably don't need a time served MG anorak to answer them.

With a few cars it is easy to find out the day they left the production line.

Your mission, should you choose to accept is;

If you wanted to know the exact day a MGF was built, where could you find out, how much would it cost and what would you need to tell them?

That pic above is the jubilee special but if you want to know how to find out all that stuff then I'd send em http://www.mgfcar.de/vin/emgf_vin.htm

You'd need the vin http://www.mgfcar.de/vin/index.htm

Good answer Ben. Sending Dieter a pm is an excellent way to get some idea of when your car was made and the possible trim fitted, however, he cannot tell you the day it was made or signed off. :yesnod:

You need to find another website to get the specific details.

A reminder of the question from the previous page

I would email the archivist at the MGF Register, who this year is Nigel May (as shown http://www.mgfregister.org/info/committee) with the VIN and registration number. I believe that Andrew "Scarlet Fever" Philips also can find out the same information for you if you PM him on .org

Dieter's site may also have details

http://www.mgfcar.de/vin/emgf_vin.htm#code

Although the screen code would only indicate the manufacturing date of the windscreen.

Unfortunately BMHIT cannot produce a heritage certificate at this time for the MGF or TF. Their archives seem to only go up to the end of production of the MGRV8

cjmillsnun, the receivers for MG Rover transferred the records for the post RV8 period to a company, who now offer you a dating certificate along with other information about your car.

To claim a win in this MG T-Bar Quiz question you need to provide a link to their site, state the cost and the information you need to provide to get the date of a MGF 'birthday'

Ben the DVLA Vehicle checker can tell you when a car was first registered and when the road tax is to expired/expired last, however it won't tell you when the car was made.

In some cases cars sit for months or even years before being registered for the first time.

The hunt continues....
