Just seen in the news that GM is going to shut SAAB. Pity as I though that some of their stuff was descent. Anyone have memories of a favourite ? I used to like seeing that rally car driven by Erik Carlsson that had a freewheel built in. How that helped I have no Idea.

The freewheel was there cause it was a 2 stroke, something to do with no engine lurication when throttle closed and engine revving fast 'on the over run'

For my sins, many yeas ago I used to sell Wartburgs, they had the same system, a real bu***r to drive down a steep hill.

So Carlsson was running that rally car with no engine braking ? Wow he must have been one very brave bloke.
