Over 6 hours to get home last night....

Left work at 4pm last night, come home via the M3, on at 6, off at 4.. Run to the M3 from my office, takes 10 minutes tops... Got there at 9.30 pm, home at 10... Must have seen 50 abandonded cars and 10 trucks.... when I finally got the the M3, I travelled from J6 to J5 at less than 15 mph...

Apparently 2000 cars and 3000 cars were stranded in the area last night, so I was lucky to get home.

One thing though, I only found 1 hill that I stuggled to get up in the F, had to be pushed that last 5 feet or so, made me realise, just because you have RWD, does not mean you cannot drive the car, you just need to be carefull....

I heard it was bad that way last night. I work in Aldershot and live just outside Portsmouth, took me 90 mins to get home when a normal journey takes 60 mins, so not bad for me. I had to detour as the A31 was shut at Alton which had a knock-on effect for my part of the journey, so headed for the A3 via the B3000.

A colleague lives in Southampton and left work at 4:30 and got home after 9pm, he took the M3 route!

I'm happy I have the Discovery this winter! :yesnod:

We still can't get the car out of the drive!:snow: Even if we get it out, we have 2-2.5 miles of ungritted c-class road to navigate before we get to civilization.(An A road)

Woohoo, my brother's coming over in his 4x4 to take us shopping. Probably something to do with us doing the family Christmas meal, possibly.
Otherwise it's beans on toast!

Meg has been patiently sitting under a huge pile of snow for a week now... Michael has been taking the strain. The roads in Blackheath were so bad this morning I had to whack the 4 wheel drive on him and even then traction control was clunking on and off all the way to the station!
