Well it's that time of year again where you may be mulling on things you do or don't want to do to your F/TF next year. Personally my new year's resolution is to actually improve the condition of GS1's bodywork rather than spend loads of money on mods! It's gonna take a lot of will power but hopefully I'll get round to a front end respray!

What about you guys and gals?

Nothing mechanical I hope. Cosmetic wise lots, remove small dent by n/s/r tail light and paint, paint and fill all the stone damage along o/side from rear wheel arch to front wheel arch, paint Trophy alloys, fit new hood, fit new carpet, fix beading edge on backrest drivers seat then cut and polish remainder of car. I also need the headlamps rechromed so that I can fit the HID kit that I have had for almost four years.

Finish a few bits finally:

1. Bumpers, new TF boot and new passenger door painted right shade of Nightfire 2.

2. Finish the blasted AirCon.

3. Sort the rear panel where I reversed into a bench more than 4 years ago (thanks local council!).

There's bound to be more haha!

I just want to stop water entering the car.... Not that I have tried yet, it's too damn cold in the garage!

Now the relatives have gone home I may find time to get onto it before I have to finsih off the kitchen decorating/modifying.

Apart form that I promise to wash the 'F' more often. It's not an onerous task just difficlt finding the time sometimes!

Older but certainly not wiser!

It's gonna be from a few places:

1. Heater air intake seal
2. Window 'corner' where it meets the mirror area
3. Window stops broken allowing the window to go a bit high
4. Block sill drain holes (must be bad and very full to flood the interior though!)

Hope that helps.

Hi all!

For me .......

P Reg, 1996 BRG 1.8 vvc

Health permitting .....

Fix the starter motor
Fix the bloody Heritage hard top, (new rubber seal/adjust rear fixing clamps and if it still doesn't sit securely - flog the damn thing!).
Circuit test the heated rear window on the hard top
Swap the old seats, cards, etc for nicely refurbished cream leather interior, including steering wheel & gaitors. (purchased)
A little repair work on the soft top
Adjust the o/s driver's window
Replace n/s manual wing mirror (purchased)
Replace front fog lights (purchased)
Fix on new rear spoiler, (purchased & currently being re-sprayed BRG).
Arrange to have front bonnet re-sprayed
Arrange to have hard top re-sprayed

To be done by my friendly garage .......

Adjust handbrake
Replace two rear o/s engine mounts
Waxoyl undeneath the car
MOT (which was due on 3rd December!!!!)

Jobs done since car purchased back in August 2009 ......

n/s rear wing re-sprayed
o/s rear wing re-sprayed
boot resprayed
16" 11 spoke Wheels refurbished
new tyres all round
new (used) soft top purchased
new (used hard top purchased
new mats
new walnut vent, consol & gear knob
new black leather gear grip
new black leather centre consol rear and arm rest
new battery
and various "sundries" !!

And done by garage ........

90K standard service
coolent system fluid change
brake fluid change
Bosch KTS 520 diagnostics
OSR ABS Sensor Bosch AP
Mann Hummel oil filter
rear tie bar bushes
tie arm to sub frame bushes
hub bush fit
4 wheel supertrackers rear wheel
OSF track rod end
nsf shocker fitted
Delphi front disks
value pads
valiue rear pads
speedo replaced
rear brake pipes replaced

PROVIDED that the mountings are replaced then with a bit of luck ... "the bat" should romp through her eventual MOT and I should end up with what I wanted when I bought her ....... a thouroughly decent, none modded MGF!

I've only driven "the bat" half a dozen times since purchase and I can't wait to get her out and on the road come Spring time!

Definately a labour of love!

I had been waiting for a while, but refused to pay stupid prices! Patience is a virtue after all :)
