I have seen air induction kits for sale on the internet to improve the MGTF performance, are they any good, can you recommend a make for my stepspeed?
Thanks

The main thing to remember is that you can't just fit a normal cone filter, it has to be fully enclosed with a cold air feed otherwise it will just suffer from heatsoak, where it will draw in warm air from the engine, and this will rob you of power.
What car have you got by the way (it doesn't say in your Avy). A TF160 airbox is about the best for the engine anyway.

Also I'm not too sure how much tweaking you can do on a stepspeed as the gearbox is matched to the output of the engine.

The stepspeed without major mods will benefit from an induction kit and exhaust mods but will not give huge performance returns due to the torque limitations on the gearbox of 175Nm. It is possible but very costly to have the gearbox modified by ZF which then lifts the torque capacity to 200+Nm which gives a lot more scope for engine mods and sparkier performance. It is also worth having the gearbox software reset as it is an adaptive system which learns how you drive and operates accordingly, but when you have a pre owned vehicle it will still have the previous drivers settings embedded in the software and as a consequence will not retain your driving style and has to relearn for you on each journey.CJJ;7913 wrote: Not too sure that you would gain much on a standard setup really.

I personally use a Quickshift Taipan induction kit which seem to give consistant power and torque gains. Looks good too with its carbon fibre canister.
Maybe we need a dedicated stepspeed thread here?

i've just got a BRM enclosed cone of kendoskeg (drives a ZR but is putting it back to standard to buy (maybe) a TF )
anyway i need some corrugated pipeing to get the cold air to the box... does anyone know a nice cheap place to get some?
Its stupidly expensive in my local motor supplies place! (£25 per Meter!!!!)
