Yes Sundance ive not got a water level sensor fitted.....I did think about fitting new bearings but the ones on it seem in good nick...the tf at the moment has off the top of my head reached 50,000...if the bearings were to go at 70,000 then I've got another aprox 7 years left in them...didn't take me long to get the hub off ....quite enjoyed it..Spannering for myself in my own time beats doing it has a full time job.....

The ABS sensors are always a pig to get off. I busted two out of four. Last one I had to dremmel the bolt head off and prise off. They are all refitted with anti seize and stainless bolts. If anyone is attempting to remove their original hubs, suggest its a good idea to get a couple of spare ABS sensors in stock just in case. I think Bitz sells second hand ones for a fiver each. At that price its a good spare on the shelf even if its not used!
Now my lights are done, next project is new shock absorbers and springs. Sometime next month, think I will opt for the LE500 type comfort ride ones. How easy are the rear ones to take out? Hoping its not too bad a job and will I need to source a sprig compressor?

On a better note, checked my header tank level today, its ok, my sensor had worked loose...nice to know it still works ok...will re-attach it better over the weekend!

I have just replaced mine, due to worn bushes.

Quite easy to do, just usual rusty bolts.

Anti roll bar gets in the way, so needs dropping.

I found a bent lower mounting bolt, which delayed me in getting a replacement, so maybe worth buying a pair of bolts.

No need for spring compressor. The compression in the spring has gone before the nut on the damper rod is removed (same as front).

Four hours total at a steady pace.

Thanks for that Gorsq. I try to fit new bolts when replacing anything on the steering and suspension, so will get new ones ready.

Yes completely legal, but you need the correct controller to dim them when your lights come on. Mine also flash with the indicators.
I MOT'd my partners car a couple of days ago and asked the tester on the legalities of them, and he said how they were fitted would be fine.
They are not yet currently legislated in the ministry tests.

Thanks Sundance

I see your are repairing the hub retaining screws. I checked my hubs ther other day and the front hubs the screws are missing and both the rear retaining screws have had the heads drilled of !!!!!

I know you are repairing yours, and this may be a stupid question, but are the screw really essential? If so I will certained correct the problems.

The retaining screws are not essential...but mine were snapped off and the broken screw was raised on the hub flange...meaning if you were to put the disc on and the holes on the disc were not inline with the broken pin the the disc would not sit square...he original pins are made from cheese...so drilling them out with a sharp drill bit ain't a problem....it's a choice you take and when everything is has it should be then owning a mg puts a smile on your face.....heads or tails....renew or leave them....the new stainless pins are peanuts and the time to drill out the old ones was free.
