Found an accelerator cable in the shed form Fleur ('96 F) that I broke years ago.... oiled it up and fitted it this afternoon. The throttle still feels 'heavy', although maybe I am getting used to the light throttle on the Pug 306 I am using while I wait to do the Range core plugs?

Anyway although it is still heavy it is much smoother, and the response seems better - will take him out for a run later to check it.

Gerry, I have the same roll hoops as you. Where did you get that windstop and how does it fit?

Well done on the mot too :)

Hi Hammy,

Came from Ebay about 45.00 I think it fits using the tonneau cover fixings so know drilling required, I did have to modify it slightly by cutting some slots in to clear the collars on the hoops, if you zoom in you can see.

Gerry. :P

Yes, can see those slots...done a neat job sir :)

I'm down at MG live this weekend, been here since Friday camping. Yesterday afternoon, this all original (and looking rather splendid) MG metro pulls up in the space next to me...I seem to recognise the guy pitching his tent next to mine. Don't want to make an arse of myself by saying I recognise you from somewhere, but as we are chatting, it becomes apparent...he is Simon Goldsworthy, editor of MG enthusiast magazine.

He then starts chatting about my TF. Tell him I come from an mx5 background...oh, right, do you mind if I interview you he says...so out comes the recorder and he interviews me. He's taking pictures this morning...and he's now got some pics of the mx5, looks like I might be featuring in a future edition. Small world...

Finally got a genuine 160! Came from a fellow member so hopefully all will be fine.
Thinking about starting a breeding programme now I have a pair.

And enjoying the sunshine.

I was in Rhyl yesterday Andy,we had a mid week break in North Wales,in the ZT though.

I can't get all our stuff in the TF + the climate control was great, as last week was scorchio.
