I know I was young, the costs of owning the Mini were nuts. I could afford it now I'm a bit older. But to get the same now would be stupid money. It was a 1.3i RSP converted to MG Turbo. Fast as Feck!

Never owned a ferrari passenger in my accountants 360 once who drove it like a t**t. on a main road.
Porsche Boxster i have had a long time ago the 2.5 early version not that exciting.
911 turbo several,XJR and 135i twin turbo for sale at moment on ebay.XKR but not the XF.Factory JCW mini the later turbo not supercharged is pretty exciting in right environment like a go kart .
M3 M5 Mental japanese cars.Pointless listing them all i have owned puntos lots of 1.1 1.3 and sensible family hatches.
The point is
Once you drive 200 bhp you get used to it same with 300 bhp it no longer gets exciting, over that it starts to get a bit hairy but only in track enviromnments if you live in the uk can truly test these.Hence why i am driving around in at the moment a economical diesel bmw pictured below with the 2nd picture being the most used button in a very busy dashboard of gadgets. i am not sure how to use.

'tedious' :-? Have you ever driven the new Jaguar F-Type or XK convertible or a 911?

yes, and given the conditions GT MG has described above, trickling 400hp up the road is tedious.
you'd have more fun thrashing the knackers off a fiesta st..

the F or TF are :drive:

If you're thrashing the knackers off a Fiesta ST you're definitely not doing as GT MG described. :slapme:

Even keeping within the speed limits the new Jaguars with their active exhausts, luxurious cabins and stunning good looks are definitely not tedious.

We have a 3.2S boxster in for sale, its quick but seems somehow sterile, you are detached from the feedback. 4.2 E type was ok, if you have small feet, anything over size 8 really and you are fooked... MGA was nice, but in a different league to the F, in fact the only thing I have found that is more fun to drive than my F VVC is my F Trophy 160....lol.

I did three laps at Brands in a Caterham, but no idea what it would be like on the road. Would a Lotus Elise be more fun? It's the Colin Chapman question - is light with medium power faster than heavy with a lot? K series is a light engine and the TF is moderately light, even without corrosion...

On my first job, I used to get a lift to work in, what for me, was by far the most exciting car!

A Reliant Robin. The excitement was never ending; would it go around each corner or fall over as it seemed to threaten at each deviation in the road :hgf: ; would it bounce left off the road after hitting a manhole cover, or right into oncoming traffic? :woowoo:

Maybe a better word than exciting was terrifying! :omg:

Series 2 Landy with a worn steering box and play at each TRE, now that was terrifying, a full 1/4 turn free play at the wheel....

Leigh Ping wrote: Pound for pound, there's some tremendous drives to be had in an MG. :yesnod: For the newbies that haven't seen this video, this isn't me in the movie, I daren't drive as exciting as that. :P However, in the right hands, on the right roads, it shows great performance ability and, as we all know, they're still great breezing along at 30mph with the top down. Especially in this nice sunny weather we're having right now. :broon:

Yep ;)

We just got rid of a Focus ST with 247bhp. A nice car, but exciting? No.

I get far more feeling out of the TF at lower speeds than I ever would out of the ST and a guaranteed grin.
