219 Euros for a bit of rather uninformative paper...........What a bloody ripoff!
I realise that it is some sort of pointless legislative requirement cooked up by halfwitted bureaucrats to please their idiot political masters, but it's a rort!

Does this help at all?

https://dvlaadvice.co.uk/mobile/icoc_dvla_advice_product_page1.html?gclid=CjwKCAjw-7LrBRB6EiwAhh1yXzH5KqSsapmt6tWBkcdKjAi2El5Cosp2M7dQq-KPULGqtxyLW6ILjxoC6BAQAvD_BwE

DVLA is a UK organisation but, at a glance, it looks quite helpful and considerably less expensive...

Just be aware. This service does look cheaper than the one I found (I was not searching for a CoC service, but the meaning of CoC in relation to cars), but it is NOT a DVLA site!

To me any site that is "alluding" to being something that it is not needs to be treated with caution.

Well spotted! I'm shocked that I didn't notice this myself as I would normally steer clear of this kind of thing. The dangers of a quick google!

It might be legit but definitely something to be wary of.

And now I've seen the OP's response. A result? I hope so - let us know.

Good afternoon,
I permit myself to contact you regarding the order n° 294455 of the COC for the make MG with the VIN number SDPRDWBKC8D000669.
Unfortunately, our supplier informed us that the COC won’t be possible since the vehicle was produced in China. In this case we are obliged to cancel your request and recommend you to get in touch with the MG dealer to ask for a document that will replace you the COC.
In fact, the COC is available only for vehicles produced or manufactured in Europe. For vehicles of other origin, it’s not available.
We are really sorry to cannot assist you this time and hope you will solve this situation.
We wish you a nice rest of the day.
