I've bought a used F/ TF steering column and EPAS that I'm going to be transplanting into a completely different car (MGB). It arrived with the steering lock/ ignition switch still attached which I may as well retain. Trouble is that it didn't come with a key though.
Does anyone happen to know if there are any markings anywhere on the lock that would help me order a key to suit ? [ the VIN of the car it came from isnt known, it was just one Darren picked from his stock of many spare columns]

Probably just replacing the lock barrel will be the easiest solution.
I’d be interested to see how you go with this conversion, as I have a mgf epas setup to convert my Triumph TR7 when the V8 goes it.
I have an electronic box of tricks from Jaycar to control it, I don’t recall much about it but I believe the box of trickery allows it to be programmed to vary both the speed range that the epas operates and how much assistance it gives.
It does this by changing the pulse rate from the electronic speedo sensor.
If you want to know more about it I’ll have to find it in the shed.

A good locksmith will cut you a key to fit the lock if you leave it with him .

Darren has been able to find me a matching key and ignition lock plus a set of indicator/ light stalks. Next step is to remove the old column and work out what needs to be cut and machined. Advice on that unit you have Cobber would be great please

I haven’t forgotten you Notanumber, I still haven’t found the box of tricks, bloody thing is in the garage somewhere I just have no idea where……it wasn’t all that long ago that I recall seeing it, I know it made it here in the move, just trying to figure out where I stashed it is the problem.
