battery cable
Hello guys,
one question:
can anyone tell me the cross section of the positive battery cable, the length of it and the connection size (M6, M8,...).
Had my MGTF at the garage after changing the alternator and glowing ABS-light, they found a considerable drop of voltage respective this cable and advised me to change it.
Thank you in advance
Christof

If you mean the main heavy red cable that runs between the battery + and the starter Ive just measured the one on mine as 8.5mm diameter including insulation.
it is difficult to judge the cable length though due to the path it takes. So if you were planning to make up a replacement it would seem best to remove the cable from the car to measure. You will probably find it cheapest and easiest though to buy a good second hand one from one of the specialist breakers we tend to use on here as thankfully there is still a relative abundance of decent second hand part availability for the F and TF.

I would verify this information as B&G had a major fire last year & most of their “vintage “ stock was destroyed.
The part number isn’t recognised on EBay, however I’ll check on the EPC later; there is a possibility that the part number is designated as from the solenoid to the motor. In that case it doesn’t represent as good a value as it would be for the full length!

Right, that part number is correct, whether the price is up to date will be interesting.
