TF spare wheel tyre size.
The TF VVC 160 was fitted with 304 mm discs and 4 pot callipers and 16 inch wheels,
mine has the 11 spoke 16 inch wheels and only the 11 spoke Trophy & TF160 design
will fit over the 304 discs with 4pot callipers, that's what I'm led to understand.
Thanks Glyn.

11 spoke 16 inch wheel
This any good. Fit cheap tyre of choice to match circumference...it's only a spare.

Its amusing where the seller has said they cant understand why this rim is black whilst their others are silver as thats the factory standard for every car that had 16" wheels that was supplied with a spare. The 16" alloy spares were all painted black to make it clear it's tyre size is a compromise for emergencies and should not be used on the car longer term.

Thanks Cobber, I expected you to mentally include the implied word. I suppose grammatical inferences are of little interest on cattle stations, not that you work on a cattle station but you do have some tenuous connections, as I recall.
An old gezzer with two knackered shoulders, plus a goodly number of time expired appendages, knees & hips as examples, isn’t even attractive to medical science.
Possibly trainee embalmers might take an interest, after all if they bugger the job up who’s going to know?
Apart from the smell.

Yeah, I know what you mean, I myself have a body that only a bloody undertaker would want........and even then they'd only want to bury it!Thanks Cobber, I expected you to mentally include the implied word. OK. Here is a straightforward answer to your question.Looking to change from sealant and pump to a spare wheel, so my question is what size tyre would be required for it to be used on all wheels
I understand it would also have to be a multidirectional tyre. (16 inch wheel) Thanks Glyn.
My 2004 MG TF has Sport Pack 2 which means that it has ABS, 4 Pot red brakes on the front, and 16" 11-spoke wheels. It has the offset sizes: 195/45/16 on the front and 205/40/16 on the back.
The spare, as standard, is a 14" steel wheel with some weird size tyre that brings the total diameter to the same as the other wheels. The problem, as Airportable says, is that if you get a puncture on the front you have to fit a back wheel to the front before fitting the spare to the back. So I ditched the space-saver wheel!
The good news is that since you have no spare wheel you can forget all about the space-saver wheel and seek out a 16" 11-spoke wheel with either a 205/40/16 or 195/45/16 tyre.
I can vouch for the fact that a 16" 11-spoke wheel with a 205/40/16 tyre fits just fine into the spare wheel slot in the front. This is what you need!

Given that a proper wheel and tyre combination fits the spare tyre space, we can probably safely assume the decision to use a stupid space saver arrangement was down to our old nemesis.......... the cost cutting bean counters at MG-Rover!
It's not like the space saved is in anyway significantly useful!

They must have absolutely hated the cost of giving away a proper 16" alloy as a spare wheel. Im assuming there wernt any suitable 16" steel wheels available in the right pcd so the bean counters painfully conceded that it was cheaper than having steel wheels especially designed, approved.
