cam shaft removal
I have looked at a lot of videos ,showing how to clean tappets once out .However all of the videos show the head off ,or the casting holding the cams off and on the bench .I can`t understand since I haven`t been down that route ,why when the rocker cover is off ,the cams can`t be removed then .This is after removing the clamps and the cam shaft cog wheels .Why is it necessary to remove the top complete .Im obviously missing something obvious not having done it.Hoping to brave the cold and add the flushing oil and then let it run for a short while .Just can`t summon the courage up .Must be my blood is thinner due to age Len

Hi, when you say top do you mean the head or just the frame that's holding the cam's in place?
