Yes - I have now secured new 16" rims via eBay (£105k for all 4) so then will be fitting them with new tires to the correct specs once I have refurbished them either Toyos or Falkens as they are recommended fitments.
Well, I picked up my sons ZR from the MGOC Garage who finally diagnosed the fault - frayed wiring in the harness under the chassis was preventing MEMS firing commands to fuel pump. Several hours of garage time to find, 30mins to fix and a huge labour bill. But its back on the road. I doubt any other local garage would have found the fault.
So, I dropped my new TF off for a service and general inspection at the MGOC, took a look around the club shop and then came home. Pickup on the 21st, hoping I didn't buy a lemon...
Great- thanks - yes being doing my research and looking at the Falkens probably, had not thought about the alignment, from what I can see laser alignment is the way to go.
Well, after some attempts to fix my sons MG ZR which led to buying the pscan tool and a successful extraction of the EKA code I kinda ended up buying a 2006 MG TF 135…
Got delivery on Friday and took for a spin properly yesterday. What a lot of fun. Although scary handling. Looked afterwards and yep, literally each tire is a different cheap brand…so I guess all the warning about tire choice where right after all!
