The bolts on the adjustable column are further apart than the bolts on the non adjustable earlier column.
How did the installer get around this?
It sounds like they didn't do a very effective job.
The bracket should have been welded to the cross bar that lives under the dash.

Also did they change the wiring and the ECU to the later version?
