MGFIM ’22 Malmö Sweden
MGFIM ’22 – An Event For Modern MGs
Emerged from a series of events known as the MGF International Meetings (MGFIM), eight years ago a couple of enthusiasts had decided to revive the old acronym “MGFIM” and to give it a new meaning: MG Friends In Motion. An event to meet old (and possibly lots of new) friends at least once every other year to drive around, have a chat and a good time. The idea is to offer all modern MG drivers – from RV8s to the last MG TFs, from Metros along the Z-series to the latest MG3 – the opportunity to join an inexpensive event – there is no registration fee!
Originally, the meetings were set to take place every other year in the odd years. Having already visited Germany, England, Belgium, and France – Sweden was on the list as next for 2021. As with so many events, the Corona pandemic forced us to even this tradition out and postpone the meeting in Malmö to 2022. Also, we have reverted to the traditional Ascension weekend 26 to 29 May, 2022.
The event base camp will be in the city of Malmö in Sweden’s southwestern province of Scania (Skåne), just a short trip from the Danish capital Copenhagen across the famous Öresund bridge.
MGFIM ’22 will be organised by MGCC Sweden and is limited to 50 cars and teams. The exact programme is still work in progress, with the overall itinerary set up as follows:
- Wednesday, 25 May: optional “Day-B-Fore” meet in Lübeck/Germany in the afternoon, to collect participants from all over Europe (organised by MGCC Germany)
- Thursday, 26 May: joint ferry crossing from Travemünde to Malmö (return ticket approx 90 EUR), welcome get together in the evening at the Sky Bar
- Friday, 27 and Saturday, 28 May: driving to various interesting destinations in Scania
- Sunday, 29 May: farewell tour to the ferry port for those going home
Registration will open on 1 December, 2021 on the web site www.mgfim.org .

We would love to do Scandinavia in our F but it won't be a while until we can accumulate enough leave, good luck with this one.
