David McLennan (MGFmad) Memorial Run.
The idea was to commemorate MGFmad in a run around the Northumberland area and raise some money for MND.
After a lot of stress and cancellations/uncancellations due to some of the worst weather for a while, it all came together and we all had a great time.
Despite the snow warnings etc, we managed to get up as far as Alston before being turned back due to road closures. We never made the Hartside Top Café, but we did return to an overwhelmed staff at the Brocksbushes Farm near Hexham where we all indulged in some food/cake/coffee or a combination of all 3.
Thanks to the MGFreedom team for being so patient and thanks to all others for making the effort, some having to dig their cars out, and showing their faces in support of this poignant but also enjoyable occasion shared with friendly people.
Basically..... Thanks everyone for your support.

Posted 11 years 7 months ago #109981We had hopes of attending but I have an early start Monday. Couldn't chance weather delays.
All the cars look great: much respectful polishing in evidence!
Well done to all that attended.
It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

Posted 11 years 7 months ago #110166As always, it was a pleasure to lead one of the groups on the way over to Alston even if Phil had to wing it as I managed to lose our map of the route in the two minutes from Clive giving it to me and getting back in the car!
It was a shame we couldn't get all the way to Hartside summit (hopefully Phil will get over in the next couple of days so will post pics of what we missed!) but we can all blame Tracy as she's the Border Patrol weather organiser
However it did mean we could call at Brocksbushes cake shop for a final natter!!!!
It was lovely to see some old faces and plenty of new ones, hopefully this will be the start of good year for MG runs on both sides of the border.
Thanks all for a good day, good fun, good laughs and good responsible driving from all concerned
Phil and Maggy x
The car park attendant was a bit fierce.....
some of the Freedom crew thought they'd cover their petrol costs with a bit of windscreen washing....
the windscreen washing was a profitable exercise!
Was nice to see Deep Blue back on a run....
thanks everyone for a great time till next run ...
