New member - with a problem!
Hello all,
I'm new to this forum, although I've had my TF for twelve years now. It has taken us all over France, and into Switzerland, Italy, Germany and Belgium. I have had the front subframe off, changed the subframe mounts front and rear, and changed the head-gasket. I have also changed the timing belt twice, so I think I know my way around it... However, a few weeks ago I noticed that when removing the fuel filler there was no hiss of escaping pressure. There is also a faint smell of petrol in the car from time to time. I have checked the emission canister and the fuel pipes on the top of the tank, and replaced the fuel cap seal, all to no avail. Has anyone else had this, or knows what it may be? I do not seem to be losing fuel...

Hi and welcome to the forum.
We've done a few European tours in our F but obviously CV19 has put that on hold.
I am watching this thread with interest as I have a slight petrol smell issue.

Thanks, James,
Do you also have a lack of pressure when removing the fuel cap? That was the first indication of anything amiss...
I am at present in the middle of moving house, so garage contents now packed, and any further serious investigation is on hold - just hoping I don't blow up before we're settled....
