We have in stock ready to post brand new "Lucas 5AS SCU UNITS" (MODEL NUMBER YWC000980).
* If you fit a brand new 5AS Unit to a car, you'll find that it's in what's called 'Factory Mode'.
The most obvious sign of this (on most Post-1995 cars) is that you'll get an annoying audible warning
for as long as ignition is turned on.
You will not have to worry about the dreaded audible sound or having the Factory Mode
cleared using additional specialist hardware which incurs an extra cost. We have had
this done for you to save you time and money...
Priced £45 + VAT WITH FREE UK RECORDED DELIVERY
Suitable for the following vehicles:
Rover: 25, 45, 100, 200, 400,
MG: ZR, ZS, MGF, MGTF.
Payment via PayPal, Google Checkout
or telephone payment via Debit or Credit card
10am - 6pm 01379 669 375. We also accept
payment via Cheque or Bank Transfer......
* Info sourced from ADL

Here's a question for you; I have a Japanese market 1997 MGF VVC on it's way to me. If the car arrives with just one fob I will want to add another. (I am able to sync fobs as I have a Blackbox Solutions system) Are the Japanese frequency fobs available?...or failing that would replacing the existing 5as with one of yours enable me to use UK market fobs?
This is academic right now as if the car comes with 2 fobs I am OK, but it would be nice to know-just in case!
Thanks, Rich

Rich
Japanese fobs are 315MHz, UK fobs are 433MHz so they aren't interchangeable.
The new 5AS has to be security matched to the engine ECU and then the UK fobs are coded.
There are two ways of security matching...
Read the immobiliser code from the original 5AS and program it into the new 5AS.... effectively making a clone.
OR
Fit the new 5AS to the car and use diagnostics to force the engine ECU to learn the new immobiliser code from the 5AS.

Can you tell me if this is also compatible with a 1999 rover mini, it looks like the same model number.
Also would it just be a case of swapping the units or is there more to installing one?
Thanks
