Question Simon, what is it with the Toshiba Satellites that makes them so flippin rubbish ?

I have one that is 5 months old sitting in my wardrobe, stupid thing just stopped working and would not let itself be reformatted :slapme:

Could be a BBQ fix jobby this I had a batch of faulty harddrives with them when I managed the school network and they have a hidden partition that needs knocking off before you can go crazy wiping things

Must be a snip at that price if only it was 17inch screen

Ben is right, quite often the factory partition stops you from reinstalling especially if not using their recovery disks

Can I leap to the defence of the Toshiba Sattelite. I have 2. The first is donkeys years old with a Pentium 2 400mhz processor. The second is 12 months old with a core i5 processor and I have had no trouble with either.

however a woman I work with bought 2 Lenovos last November one for herself and one for her son. Both have been returned to Lenovo for motherboard faults. One of them twice.

Luck of the draw I suppose.
