I'm weighing up whether to swap the pistons in my Scholar 1900 for low compression ones, or to sell the engine complete at start a fresh build.

For it to be worth my while, I need £2300 (which is considerably less than it cost to build originally!) for the following:

Scholar EVO2 1.9 block (82mm bore giving 1887cc)
Forged Pistons to suit
H-Beam conrods with fully floating gudgeon pins
Later Spec Oil Pump (11.5mm rotor)
Vandervell uprated big end bearings
Standard main bearings
Elise Parts Alloy Pulley
Short Engine was balanced and built by Scholar
Baffled Sump
VVC Head with Paul Ivey ‘REC’ 32.5mm (1mm oversize) inlet valves
Fully Ported and Polished by Pete Burgess
Piper BP270 Exhaust Cam

Engine covered approx. 10k miles whilst in my Metro (running a conservative ignition base map) for my TF. With less conservative mapping, I’d expect ~ 200bhp.

It will need aftermarket management (I have an Emerald on ebay ending this weekend!) or a Z&F Remap to suit.

I also have a new Piper 1444 cam kit which I could add for another £700 (and I'd keep the reground BP270 cam for my new build) which consists of:
1444 cams in VVC sized journal inlet cam
Solid Lifters
Double Valve Springs
Uprated Spring Caps to suit solid lifters
Black Vernier Pulleys
Black VVC Blanking Kit
Lifter Shims

You'd just need to add ITB's and you'd be looking at 230bhp+

It's for a good cause. Getting quite excited about the charged engine, even though it probably wont be in the car until the summer :D
