It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

when i changed my throttle body to a 52mm, i had high revs too. i kept doing the reset but it didn't work. eventually stripped it all back off to find i hadn't plugged in the TPS plug back in. once in - never had another problem with it.

If i can rule out iac valve, then it has to be either the tps or a lambda sensor or just bad wiring.
The revs are quite steady just steadily high, i know i need new ht leads but doubt its to do with that.
I tried disconnecting the tps but all it did was drop the revs by a couple of hundred, this is a bit of a nightmare so far.

There is also the fact that the car just doesnt pull as well as it should, i gave it an italian tune up tonight and the car started missing, i know there may be a link with lack of a recent service (ht leads and spark plugs). I am not familiar with this car having only had it for a week but its performance is mildly uneven, like it has a fault but i don't know precisely what it is. I have downloaded digimoto to try to get to the bottom of it but i only have a vag-com cable which appears to be incompatible, can you point me in the right direction of a compatible lead ?
The car is leading me down the garden path, but thanks for your help.
