I just missed out on a TF over on eBay, last minute. For the whole week I was the highest bidder, I was looking around, pricing up the parts and upgrades it needed doing, and I was getting all excited about my project car.
So here I am, looking out for another F or TF for under £1000. It must have tax and MOT for at least the next 6 months for the 1k price tag.
As long as it's pretty much mechanically sound, I don't mind the odd thing wrong here n there, I've been reading up on these cars for the last few months and have a fairly good idea of what to expect for the money, but can't for the life of me find anything close by.
I'm up in Northallerton, N Yorks.
So basically, I just need a working roadworthy T or TF that I can drive away and and work on over the summer.
Thanks in advance guys.

Why would you bid ever before the last minute before closing? I never understand that! It can only be good for one thing: raising the price. Just make sure you're there the last minute and then decide to go for it or not.

I'll be shortly doing Meg's MOT then selling her. Can't afford to run three cars (especially when one of them is a 4.6 Range Rover - praise the Lord for LPG!!)
She's a 1998 MPi, Nightfire red, and will be sporting a Suntorm spec grey interior with half alcantara seats. I've had her 8 years. Russell replaced her HG with the MLR one some years ago. She has a TF spec front end, and a 2004 hood.
Let me know what you think.

You probably got out bid by someone using a sniper program, these automatically put the user's bid on in the last seconds of the auction.
What you do is that you set the maximum price that you are willing to pay and how many seconds before the end of the sale you wish to place your bid, then the program places your bid.
The advantages to the buyer are:
* No one knows your bidding until the last moment, so they can't react in time.
* The seller can't shill bid you up to get a better price.
*You the buyer don't have to remember to bid, or hang about online to protect your bid.
* You don't get caught up in bidding wars, and end up paying more than you intended.
Of course, if there is another sniper out there who is prepared to bid more than you, then you'll still be outbid.
The reason you can adjust the bid time is that if you were to bid with, for example, only 1 second to go the quality of the internet connection between the sniper server and ebay may not be good at that time and you may not get your bid on in time.
But if you put on a delay on of about 5 seconds, you should be OK, much more than that and you run the risk of someone manually out bidding you. (you'd be surprised at how quick some people can but up a manual bid)
I use Mybidder, I'm happy with it, but there are many others possibly better.

Went to see LBS cars Amaranth with a potential purchaser on sat, the car is overall not bad but has a worrying rumble he says is alternator, not so sure about that bit if he cam change that and cure it its worth the 800 but the interior is shot and looks like a 100k rather than 53k, he has it on eBay currently with 1 bid

Pictures of Meg are in my gallery - I'll sort some out once the interior is fitted as she is getting the Sunstorm grey interior, which should look nice against the Nightfire paintwork.
The two-tone interior is going in to Felix as I have spent too much time and effort on it (notwithstanding that I may be fitting a ZR Dash anyway I know, but that will be covered in two-tone leather anyway) ... and it's almost how I'd like it now.... I am very walnut 'pipe-n-slippers' you know!
