Change MGF side lights/Upgrade to LED's
I recently changed my side lights to LED's and the only how too was for the TF. So i thought id do the F how too! It's much more simple and no tools are required.
Step 1 - Open the front bonnet/spare wheel compartment.
Step 2 - Identify the bulb cover and turn it to the left (Lefty Loosey).
Step 3 - Pull the cover off and place to one side.
Step 4 - Identify the side light housing.
Step 5 - The side light housing is held i place by friction. Grip hold of the white portion and pull with a wiggle to free it.
Step 6 - Remove the old bulb by simply pulling it out (the bulb is held in by friction)
Step 7 - Fit the new bulb/LED (in my case LED) by just pushing it in.
Step 8 - Replace the side light housing by pushing it back into the hole it came from.
To be continued... can only add 8 pics at a time lol!

Posted 12 years 2 weeks ago #83065Step 9 - Replace the bulb cover by placing it back on and turning it to the right.
Step 10 - Switch the side lights on and check the bulb/LED works. Repeat on other headlight cluster. Done!
Enjoy your new side lights!

Posted 12 years 2 weeks ago #83078I did exactly the same to my MG TF and two MG ZR's, used exactly the same led bulbs..they have been in just two months and they have either stopped working altogether or are flashing...had to refit the originals...
I hope yours last longer.

Posted 11 years 10 months ago #94905I've had smd's in for the last couple of years and still on the same pair.My MOT station always moan about the light being 'a bit blue' which it is not, but next to the yellow main headlight bulbs it does look blue.Having said that he still passes my car but some testers out there may fail you with these bulbs in.
