I take it you mean that water is getting into the car.
First check: snug fit at the front: adjust the front clips if required. Need to be adjusted tight to pull the top forwards.
Second check: make sure the rear is snug along the back: the clips are adjustable for tension by means of a screw on the end of the threaded portion.
Third and most likely: it's leaking past the window seals at some point. If adjusting the clips doesn't cure it, sit in the car and get someone to shine a torch around the glass/rubber seal. Any gaps will show. The window travel is adjustable: there is a 'how to' in the how to section. Clive's I think. I used it and it works. :broon:
Hope this helps.

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

Hi John & Sue
Thanks very much for the rapid response!
The problem is actually that water is collecting in the cavity of the hardtop & sloshes around when you drive. It will trickle out by the rubber surround of the rear window but really needs a drain hole somewhere I think. The dealer had several attempts at it but only managed to scratch the paint sadly & said no one would touch it for fear of breaking the glass, but I think others must have this problem. We think it's an original MG roof b.t.w.
Kind regards
Derek

By the cavity, do you mean the space between the shell and the liner? If so, I'd suggest taking the top off and removing the headliner. Remove the front clips and ease out the plastic push pins at the rear. These are tight and may snap but Halfords stock them or I could send you a couple.
The liner is crappy composite skinned with fibre glass and won't tolerate much wetting.
Reassemble the clips and put the top back in and get a glamorous assistant to spray around with a hosepipe. You should see where the ingress is. If the side windows aren't leaking it may be tracking around the rear window seal.
Keep us posted.
