Just out of interest what would you use for a carputer.
I keep toying with the idea of using one of my Raspberry Pi's to do some a carputer type project. But there is never enough time to work out where to start.

I'll be using a PC running windows 7, only because i know it well so no learning curve.

using a mini itx motherboard in a case like this
