Funnily enough of course (sorry original members I know you know this already!) this site only exists BECAUSE of a .org ban so really we should thank them for that! I think that's why this forum is so friendly and open and tolerant of everyone's opinion... because the initial ethos was to make a home for anyone who loved the F & TF, no matter who they were or what other forums they belonged to! Haha I remember in the early days it was almost a bannable offense to mention us here.. Hehe, Oh how far we have come!

I agree entirely with your statement, i was asked by Kara to join shortly after she started the T Bar, i have never been on .org but had heard a lot about the sniping, back biting and banning and it is stupid. We have over 300 members in the Epsom MG Owners Club at which i am area secretary and have been for the past five years (they keep re-electing me for some reason!! we have all sorts of MGs in the club from a L2 Magna (one of 45 remaining) A K1 (only 50 made) through all of the models up to a 2011 MG6 GT, some of our members do not even have an MG and we have one member with a Singer Le Mans which is estimated to be worth around £250,000 because of its history. we do not judge anyone on their veiws or opinions or their MGs, which is probably why we are such a large and happy club and have new members joining each month. I feel that the T Bar is like this, a very happy place, lots of good sound advice, lots of nice people and a Quiz, thanks to Paul.

Reading the.borg forums is akin to reading the Daily star for me ..

Tedious, and only something I do when someone says "Have you seen what they are doing now" !

The moderation is spasmodic along with selective selectivity as to who they do Moderate ..

It is the self appointed moderator's that have ruined the site, along with greed, over inflated ego's and too many experts who actually know very little and can cause someone who know's little, a great deal of expense by trying to do it themselves, when some jobs are best left to the experts..

The worst thread I witnessed was when someone dared to offer criticism against a very popular mechanic, and certain members threatened to burn his house down ..

Disgusting, along with the blatant homophobia which all forums, when first set up have to agree to have nil tolerance towards ..

That's all I have to say on the matter, all the above statements are my own personal opinion and therefor are not open for discussion ..

I'm going lock to this thread now whilst its still fairly objective. A lot of hard work has gone into getting us accepted within the MG community and further .org bashing will only hurt our reputation. You've all had you say so lets get on with talking about cars instead, Astra's and Porsche included :broon:
